Piazza Signoria Hotels & Apartments

Here is a short list of recommendations for hotels and rental apartments on or very near to Piazza della Signoria. The closer to the piazza, the likelihood that prices will increase.

While in the heart of Florence, unless there are special events (like the New Year's Eve celebrations) this piazza is actually much more quiet at night than those of Santa Croce or Santo Spirito - being in the commercial center, things pretty much wind up when most retailers close (around 7 or 8 pm) leaving residents and tourists walking or biking their way home from dinner or other evening events (the whole square is a pedestrian zone).

  1. Hotel Bernini Palace - A 5-star hotel in a historic 15th-century building, just a short walk from Piazza della Signoria near Palazzo Vecchio (actually located on Piazza San Firenze, directly behind Palazzo Vecchio).
  2. Palazzo Uguccioni - Historic accommodations located in one of the notable Renaissance palaces directly overlooking Piazza della Signoria, offering guests the opportunity to stay in a building of architectural significance (more information about Palazzo Uguccioni ).
  3. Portrait Firenze - Part of the Lungarno Collection owned by the Ferragamo family, this luxury hotel sits along the Arno River just a short walk from the piazza.
  4. Relais Piazza Signoria - As the name suggests, this apartment-style accommodation is situated directly on the piazza, offering some rooms with views of the square and its sculptures.
  5. Relais Uffizi - A charming boutique hotel located between Piazza della Signoria and the Uffizi Gallery, offering rooms and suites in a historic building with views of the nearby landmarks.

Piazza Signoria Hotel Map

Here is a map of these five hotels so you can get an idea of where you would be staying relative to the Piazza:

Staying in these accommodations puts you right in the historic center of Florence, with immediate access to many of the city's main attractions. The convenient location allows you to easily return to your room throughout the day between sightseeing excursions. The whole area is "pedonale" or pedestrian zone - so you will probably not want or need to have a rental car (if you do in this part of town it greatly complicates things). There is a Taxi stand in Piazza San Firenze which is a short walk from all of the hotels mentioned.
