The work in Piazza Santa Croce is nearing completion. The temporary stadium is almost done, and they keep trucking in more and more dirt. We have heard a lot of anecdotes about the actual event, which seems to be shrouded in as many urban legends as facts. Broken limbs, fist fights on the pitch, prisoners freed to compete (none this year, none in the last ten years, etc.). The parade starts at 3:00 PM, the first match at 5:00, on Sunday. It will be the only match we get to see as we leave this Wednesday for Paris, on our way to the states for the summer.
