Postcard From Florence

We have had family here again for the past week so between work and spending time with them we have been neglecting the blog, again. Here is a short list of what is going on: there are many Easter related events happening, the Italian elections are going on and it looks like Berlusconi is going to lose, I managed to visit Santa Trinità finally - there is an amazing Ghirlandaio Adoration of The Magi there as well as a cycle of frescoes by him about the life of St. Francis in the Sasseti Chapel - I continue to believe the Ghirlandaio does not really get enough respect as one of the best painters of his time. His colors are amazing. Santa Trinità is definitely worth a visit. The weather has been much warmer and Florence is swamped with tourists... and that is about it for now. More soon -
