Cucina Tradizionale Boccadama
One of our all time favorite places to eat in Florence (our first apartment was above the restaurant) is the Ristorante Cucina Tradizionale Boccadama (they recently relaunched their website and refined their name).
Located directly on Piazza Santa Croce, this is real Tuscan and other regional Italian food in a great setting, with prompt, efficient, and friendly service. In season you can dine al fresco too. Lunch is amazing, and prices are very reasonable.
Some of our favorites are the salads, crostini Toscani, lasagna, and spaghetti carbonara - and the meat dishes are also excellent. Everything is home made from quality ingredients, and the chef has been there for forever. Make sure to have one of their special desserts - either tiramisu or the pear and chocolate cake! Buon appetito!
If you go, say hi to Marco and Giorgio - and tell them Anthony sent you! Open everyday (according to their website) from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.
